🌿 Day 7 - Write Yourself a Permission Slip

Hello gentle souls 🌼

You’ve made it to Day 7 of the Spring Into Mindfulness challenge—and through your first full week of showing up for yourself with intention. That is something to truly be proud of.

Whether you journaled every day, did one or two mindful activities, or simply paused once this week to breathe and reconnect—you are doing the work. The work of coming back to yourself. Of listening. Of softening.

And that’s exactly where today’s focus takes us: into the heart of what it means to nourish yourself with rest.

We live in a world that glorifies productivity, speed, and endless doing. But spring doesn’t bloom in a rush. And neither do you.

Today, we shift our attention to rest as nourishment—not something you “earn,” but something you deserve simply because you are human.

Rest isn’t just physical. It’s emotional. It’s spiritual. It’s the deep exhale your soul takes when you finally give yourself permission to pause.

✨ Today’s Affirmation:

“My needs are valid and worth honoring.”

Let this be your mantra today. Say it gently. Write it down. Let it wrap around the parts of you that still feel like they need permission to slow down, to take a break, to step back.

You do not have to wait until you’re burnt out to take care of yourself. You can choose rest because you are worthy of it.

📝 Journal Prompt:

What have I been needing that I’ve been ignoring?

This prompt isn’t here to shame you—it’s here to offer clarity. Sometimes the things we need the most are the easiest to overlook. Today is a beautiful opportunity to check in with yourself honestly and kindly. Ask: What is your body asking for? Your heart? Your energy?

🌸 Mindful Activity: Write Yourself a Permission Slip

Take out a piece of paper or open your journal, and write yourself a note that gives you permission to honor your needs. It could be for today—or for the season you’re in.

Here are some gentle examples:

📝 “I give myself permission to rest without guilt.”

📝 “I give myself permission to cancel plans if I need space.”

📝 “I give myself permission to feel what I’m feeling.”

📝 “I give myself permission to be enough—just as I am.”

You can tuck it in your journal, pin it to your mirror, or take a photo and make it your phone background. Let it be a soft anchor whenever you forget that your needs matter.

💬 Group Reflection:

  • What’s one need you’re giving yourself permission to honor today?

  • How do you want to nourish yourself with rest this week?

  • What does rest actually look like for you—beyond sleep?

There is no “perfect” way to rest. For some, it’s silence. For others, it’s creating, crying, laughing, breathing, or simply doing less.

Remember: Rest is not something you earn after burnout—it’s something you deserve because your energy is sacred.

You are allowed to slow down. You are allowed to say no. You are allowed to protect your peace.

Let today be a loving reminder that you do not have to bloom every day. Sometimes the most powerful growth happens in the quiet, in the stillness, in the in-between.

Keep going—gently 💛
